Unitel Group aims to reduce the greenhouse gas footprint of our operations while delivering reliable and advanced technology. We have set a target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 23% by 2028 through energy-efficient solutions across our infrastructure and expanded use of renewable energy.
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Solutions
As part of our greenhouse gas mitigation program, we implement energy-saving and renewable energy initiatives across four main areas of our operations.
Data Centers
We reduce energy consumption in our data centers by lowering cooling loads, optimizing server room layouts, and adopting efficient cooling systems.
In 2025, our data centers achieved a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) score of 1.3, placing them within the internationally recognized “High Efficiency” category.
Mobile Network Infrastructure
Across our nationwide mobile network infrastructure, we reduce electricity consumption by upgrading equipment and expanding the use of renewable energy.
As of 2025, one out of every six mobile network stations operates entirely on solar energy.
Broadband Network Infrastructure
Univision’s IPTV and home internet services rely on broadband fiber network infrastructure. To reduce energy consumption, we are replacing legacy FTTB (Fiber-to-the-Building) infrastructure using copper cables with FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) fiber-optic technology while upgrading to lower-energy equipment.
Buildings and Facilities
We implement energy-saving measures across our buildings and facilities through efficient lighting, optimized equipment, and consideration of renewable energy integration opportunities.

Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Transparency
Since 2021, Unitel Group has conducted annual greenhouse gas inventories for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions in alignment with internationally recognized methodologies and publicly disclosed the results through our Sustainability Report.
Our greenhouse gas inventory is based on the following internationally recognized standards and methodologies:
•Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
•Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol)
•United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA)
